The Weeknd has won two awards at the 58th edition of the Grammy Awards.

The Canadian R&B singer won best urban contemporary album for “Beauty Behind the Madness” and best R&B performance for ‘Earned it' (“Fifty Shades Of Grey” soundtrack).
In the best urban contemporary album category, he was nominated alongside The Internet, Kehlani, Miguel and Lianne La Havas.
He beat Andra Day, Hiatus Kaiyote, Jeremiah and Tamar Braxton in the best R&B performance category.

The Weeknd lost out to Taylor Swift in the album of the year category. He was also nominated for record of the year and best pop solo performance for ‘Can’t feel my face’ and best R&B song.

The singer whose real name is Abel Tesfaye released his award-winning album in on August 28, 2015. As per the crooner’s customary fashion, “Beauty Behind The Madness” embodies the elements and themes of drugs, sex, relationships, pain and pursuit of fame continue. His singles ‘Can’t feel my face’ and ‘Earned it’ heralded his entry into mainstream music.
The 2016 edition of the ceremony event held on Monday at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, U.S.A.
