Honesty-filled Life
"Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.” ― Walter Scott.
If you want to be the Light in a relationship, you need to be yourself. I’m not saying concealment isn’t appropriate at times, but hiding things out of fear and insecurity is not really a good idea.
Of course, honesty requires courage. When you hesitate to tell the truth, it is often because you’re afraid of the consequences. And sometimes you may be afraid for good reasons! But even if the initial reaction to your honesty is messy, it is sometimes better to let the chips fall where they may. That way you allow room for something more solid and authentic to take hold.
It was Laura Ingalls Wilder who once said, “The real things haven't changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures; and have courage when things go wrong.”
