$2.1bn Arms Scam ThisDay publisher, Nduka Obaigbena returns N350m to EFCC
A top EFCC source said Obaigbena returned the money on Tuesday, February 2, 2016.
The publisher of ThisDay Newspapers, Mr. Nduka Obaigbena has reportedly returned N350m to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
A top EFCC source who spoke to Punch said Obaigbena returned the money on Tuesday, February 2, 2016.
The source said “The Publisher of ThisDay Newspaper, Mr. Nduka Obaigbena, has returned N350m out of the N670m he received from the ONSA
“The
Publisher is expected to return the rest N200m next week. You know that
he signed an undertaking to return the money before they released him.
That undertaking expires on Tuesday next week.’’
Obaigbena
was invited by the anti-graft agency to shed more light on the N670m he
allegedly collected from the office of a former National Security
Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki.
He was granted an administrative bail after agreeing to refund the money.
The EFCC subsequently gave the business mogul two weeks to refund the money.
Reports
also said Obaigbena used some part of the funds he collected, to fund
Arise TV, his UK based television station, adding that N568, 360, 000
was allegedly transferred to Arise Global Media Limited.
