The Local reports that the rat population of Rome is estimated to be twice the human population owing to the amount of food waste at their disposal.
Rome has reportedly been fighting the rat population for years officials are now ready to crack down on those who may be unintentionally feeding the rat.
Thus, anyone caught dropping food waste in Rome will be subject to a fine for littering.
