Morgan Freeman Actor to receive Chaplin Award in April

The event which is set to hold in Manhattan come April 25 at Lincoln Center will host an occasion that celebrates and give trophy to actors and film makers who have proven excellent and great artistic achievement in their career.

The event which is set to hold in Manhattan come April 25 at Lincoln Center will host an occasion that celebrates and give trophy to actors and film makers who have proven excellent and great artistic achievement in their career.  
Morgan Freeman will be recognised for his acting roles in movies which includes “Lean on Me,”  “Driving Miss Daisy,” “The Shawshank Redemption,” “Seven” and “Million Dollar Baby,” the 2004 film that earned him an Academy Award.

Other significant awards hanging on freeman’s shelve includes a Cecil B. DeMille Award with Golden Globes, and a Kennedy Center Honor just to mention a few.

The studio won a bidding war for rights to the reboot in early 2015, with Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman's The Picture Company set to produce. Kurt Russell starred as the iconic one-eyed anti-hero Snake Plissken in the original Dystopian action film, released by Avco Embassy in 1981. Studiocanal owned the rights to the film, which had several suitors, and was won by Fox's Mike Ireland on the back of the studio's competitive bid.
