Sons Of The Devil Undergraduates murder American returnee, steal her valuable
Two final year students of the Ebonyi State University have been nabbed
for murdering an American returnee to steal her property.
A woman who returned from the United State of America to spend time with her family has been murdered by two undergraduates of the Ebonyi State University, James Okoh and Victor Okefie, who pretended to be cab drivers taking her to her home.
It was gathered that the lady identified as Mrs Stella Uhuo, was murdered and robbed by the undergraduates, shortly after her flight landed at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, on November 14, 2015.
After being on the run for some months, the culprits were apprehended by the Enugu State Police in their hideouts.
Okoh
is said to be from Afikpo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, while
Okefie is native of Ajaokuta in Kogi State and are both final year
students of the institution.

It
was learnt that shortly after landing at the airport, the deceased
contacted Okoh, who reportedly combines his studies with a cab business,
to convey her to Abakiliki, where she was to deliver some items she
brought for some people from the US.
It
was also gathered that Okoh was known to Uhuo and had provided cab
services for her on several occasions in the past but this time, he had a
sinister plan under his sleeve for her.
Following the call from Uhuo, Okoh arrived at the airport in his Volvo car in company with Okefie.
On
the way to Abakiliki, the duo diverted the car off the busy
Enugu-Abakiliki expressway to a lonely road, where they beat their
victim to death, before making away with the items she wanted to
deliver, including cash in different currencies including dollars,
naira, clothes and electronic gadgets.
Having
murdered their passenger, Okoh and Okefie dumped her body at at dustbin
located along the Enugu-Abakiliki expressway where the body was found
some days later.
The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ebere Amaraizu,
who confirmed the arreste of the suspects, said they had been at large
since the incident, even as the police commenced investigations into the
crime after Uhuo's body was discovered.
According
to Amaraizu, Okoh was arrested on January 29, 2016, at his hostel in
Ebonyi State, while Okefie was trailed to his parents’ house at
Ajaokuta, in Kogi State, where he was nabbed on January 31, 2016, adding
that they had confessed to the crime though they told the police they
did not intend the kill their victim as she died while resisting their
attempt to make away with the items in her possession.
Confessing to their crimes, Okoh said:
“We
dumped her corpse along Enugu/Abakaliki express road, on the Enugu
State side. We took her dollars and luggage including ipad and broke the
SIM cards of her phones.
We ran to my
hostel at Ebonyi State University and later went to Sabongari in
Abakaliki to change the dollars to Naira and got over N850,000. We burnt
the clothes of the deceased, and shared all the male clothes we saw in
the luggage.”
